		<description>Great piece and such terrific data, thanks Mack. Boiled down, it&#039;s pretty simple: oooo shiny, me want! It&#039;s free, too!?! Wait, there&#039;s work involved?

Just like any approach in business, without good planning and benchmarks, the shiny new thing becomes the elephant in the corner. I hope people read this carefully and understand that taking their company down the social media path doesn&#039;t mean a thing until they attach a real live strategy to it and adapt that strategy like they would any piece of the marketing and customer service areas of their business.
